Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 (4 cr.)
Provides
information about and experience working with Microsoft Exchange Server
2003. The goal is to provide a prospective networking professional with
coverage of the various tasks with which an Exchange server
administrator must be intimately familiar. Students will gain both the
knowledge and skills they need to prepare for the Microsoft
Certification examination 70-284, Implementing and Managing Microsoft
Exchange Server 2003. Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S.
degree in Information Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 303 - Planning a Microsoft Windows 2003 Active Directory
Infrastructure (4 cr.)
Provides in-depth coverage of planning, implementing, maintaining,
and troubleshooting Microsoft’s enterprise-level directory service
Active Directory. The material in this course serves to prepare the
student for the Microsoft examination 70-294, Planning, Implementing and
Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory
Infrastructure.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 304 - Implementing a Microsoft Windows 2003 Network
Infrastructure (4 cr.)
Provides an introduction to the major areas of network and network
service configuration on Windows Server 2003. The material in this
course serves to prepare the student for the Microsoft examination
70-291, Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows
Server 2003 Network Infrastructure.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 305 - Designing a Microsoft Windows 2003 Active Directory and
Network Infrastructure (4 cr.)
Provides an in-depth study of configuring, administering and
troubleshooting the services available within a Microsoft Windows Server
2003 network infrastructure. The material in this course serves to
prepare the student for the Microsoft examination 70-297, Designing a
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory and Network
Infrastructure.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 307 - Planning a Microsoft Windows 2003 Network Infrastructure
(4 cr.)

ISATI 310
– Fundamentals of Cisco Wireless LANs (4 cr.)
The
learner will demonstrate required knowledge of wireless technologies and
the implementation of these technologies in wireless networks. Emphasis
is placed on the areas of design, planning, implementation, operation,
and troubleshooting. The course expands knowledge of and provides
practical experience with wireless networks. Prepares the student for
the Wireless LAN Association certification exam CWNA (Certified Wireless
Network Administrator).
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field and must have a current, valid CCNA
certification.
ISATI 312 - CCNP 1: Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (4 cr.)
Designed to enhance the learner's prospects of successfully
completing the CCNP certification process. In addition, this course
provides preparation for the exam Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks
BSCI, Prometric # 642-801.
ISATI 313 - CCNP 2: Building Cisco Remote Access Networks (4 cr.)
A preparatory course which leads the learner through the Prometric
test taking process. Designed to enhance the learner’s prospects of
successfully completing exam BCRAN 642-821 Building Cisco Remote Access
Networks.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field and must have a current, valid CCNA
certification.
ISATI 314 - CCNP 3: Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (4
cr.)
A preparatory course which leads the learner through the Prometric
test taking process. Designed to enhance the learner’s prospects of
successfully completing exam BCMSN 642-811 Building Cisco Multilayer
Switched Networks.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field and must have a current, valid CCNA
certification.
ISATI 315 - CCNP 4: Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting (4 cr.)
A preparatory course which leads the learner through the Prometric
test taking process. Designed to enhance the learner’s prospects of
successfully completing exam CIT 642-831, Internet Troubleshooting
Support Exam
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field and must have a current, valid CCNA
certification.
ISATI 321 - CompTIA Security + (5cr.)
This course is primarily targeted at individuals with limited exposure
to security concepts. It encompasses the basic body of information and
skills which are required to understand the technologies which can be
implemented to improve basic security. It is not the intention of the
course to delve deeply into the various technical standards which impact
network and operating systems security.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 366 - Object Oriented Programming (4 cr.)
Continued study
of "C" programming, declarations and communication with functions, as
well as, defining and using arrays, pointers, structures and classes in
construction of operational programs. Object oriented programming and
abstract data types will be presented. Pointers, dynamic memory
management, linked list, recursion, templates, stacks, queues, trees,
and graphs will be studied and implemented using C++.
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information Systems Analysis
or related field.
ISATI 367 - Visual Programming (5 cr.)
Development of
tools used in Visual C++ including IDE and several other utilities.
Develop Windows applications and demonstrate practical application of
Microsoft Foundation Classes including database classes.
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information Systems Analysis
or related field.
ISATI 401
- Fundamentals of Networking (5 cr.)
This
course introduces the fundamental building blocks that form a modern
network including protocols, topologies, hardware, and network operating
systems. It provides an in-depth coverage of concepts such as
client/server architecture, TCP/IP, Ethernet, wireless networking, and
security. This course is designed to enhance the learner's prospects of
successfully completing Exam # N10-002, CompTIA Network+.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 402 - Novell/LINUX Operating Systems (5 cr.)
Introduce the student to the usage and administration of the Linux
operating system and assist with preparation for the Linux+
certification (XK0-001)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 403 - Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5 cr.)
Provide the student with the skills and knowledge to effectively
install, configure, and administer Windows XP and use Local Area Network
hardware and software. TCP/IP will be utilized as communication protocol
of choice for this course. A systems approach will be followed in the
installation, support and operation of the systems and their related
applications. In addition, this course provides preparation for the exam
Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP
Professional, Exam # 70-270.. Prerequisite: Successful completion of
A.A.S. degree in Information Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 404 - LAN Fundamentals (4 cr.)
Requires full systems analysis of Local Area Networks in various
hardware configuration, topologies, protocols, and operating systems
environments. Installation, maintenance, and operation of all hardware
and software presented is an integral part of this course. Integration
of the various hardware and software components into operational systems
will be required. Students will troubleshoot and repair operational
systems with hardware/software faults and/or configuration problems.
Data communications using TCP/IP protocol will be covered and the
student will be required to display a working proficiency of these
communication schemes. Operating systems supporting network protocols
including Windows XP Professional will be presented.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 405 - WAN Fundamentals (4 cr.)
Requires full systems analysis of Wide Area Networks in various
hardware configuration, topologies, protocols, and operating systems
environments. Installation, maintenance, and operation of all hardware
and software presented is an integral part of this course. Students will
troubleshoot and repair operational systems with hardware/software
faults and/or configuration problems. Data communications using TCP/IP
protocol will be covered and the student will be required to display a

ISATI 407 - BSCN-Routed Network Environments (4 cr.)
Provides the learner with the knowledge and skills to design,
configure, maintain, and scale a switched network. This course focuses
on using Cisco switches connected in LANs typically found at
medium-to-large network sites. A broad range of technical details on
topics related to switching including classless routing, single area
OSPF, EIGRP, switching concepts and LAN design, switching
configurations, Spanning Tree protocol, VLAN’s and VTP. Upon completion
of this course, the student will be able to select and implement the
appropriate IOS services required to build a scalable, routed and
switched networks.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 408 - BSCI Scalable Internetworks (4 cr.)
Provides a continued application of the concepts and skills acquired
in ISATI 207. Applied exercises lead the student through the
implementation process which is required to establish and maintain a
scalable routed network. In addition, the course presents applications
of scaled IP addresses, WAN technologies, point-to-point protocol, ISDN
and DDR, Frame Relay and network administration.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 409 - Windows
2003 Server (5 cr.)
Microsoft’s “Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer” (MCSE) track for
Windows 2003 is the premier certification for computer industry
professionals. Covering the core technologies around which Microsoft’s
future was built, the MCSE certification is a powerful credential for
career advancement. This course was developed to give the student the
critical skills and knowledge they need to prepare for one of the core
requirements of the MCSE certification program for Windows 2003 Server.
In addition, this course provides preparation for the exam Managing and
Maintaining a Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Environment (70-290).
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information
Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 410 - SQL
Server 2000 Administration (3 cr.)
Students will
program data warehousing employing security, failover clustering,
scalability, XML, and digital dashboards in the design of
business-driven solutions—and prepare for the exam that is required for
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA). In addition, this
course provides preparation for the exam Microsoft, Installing,
Configuring, and Administrating SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, #
70-228.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in
Information Systems Analysis or related field.
ISATI 477
- Senior Projects (4 cr.)
This course
requires that the student demonstrate competence in the major through a
culminating project which presents a written, oral, pictorial, and
computer interactive summary of the work done in the major or of a
comprehensive senior-level project.
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of A.A.S. degree in Information Systems Analysis
or related field.
ISATI 490
- Directed Study (1-10 cr.)
This course is
designed to meet the dynamic requirements for the Information Systems
trade. Under the direction of the instructor, the student will study
specialized topics that are emerging from the Information Systems
disciplines.
ISATI 492 - Directed Special Projects (1-10 cr.)
Opportunity to
learn advanced skills for students who are progressing at a faster than
normal pace.
The student will submit a proposal for advanced study within the context
of the classes in which they are currently enrolled. All advanced study
will be accompanied by a journal that documents the time and efforts
taken to gain the additional knowledge.
ISATI 496 –
Co-op (1-10 cr.)
Work experience in business related to student career goals. Student is
a paid part-time employee working under the supervision of employer and
program coordinator. Registration with the approval of instructor.
