I came to
the Information Systems discipline with an extensive
background in sales, customer service, and retail
management. After assessing the likelihood of continued
future employment and advancement within my chosen
career, it became obvious to me that I needed to
redirect my efforts towards a more stable, rewarding
career. I entered the Information Systems Analysis
program at Lewis-Clark State College and completed both
the Associate and Bachelor Degree programs in less than
four years. I am currently working towards my Masters
Degree in Adult Technical Education. The industry
certifications I hold include: CompTIA A+, CompTIA
Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). I also
hold a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) rating
for CCNA.
In
addition to my work as a computer/network technician, I
began teaching in this program in 2003. My background in
the applied aspects of the information systems
discipline has given me a keen insight into the
students’ needs. I’m passionate in the area of education
and I feel that my background in interpersonal
communications has allowed me to provide quality
instruction within this program.
My
husband Mike and I enjoy many activities which typically
involve something with wheels and a motor; riding the
Harley, our 1933 Ford street rod, boating, or just
traveling in general. I have a wonderful daughter,
Vanessa, who is a sophomore at LHS and is actively
involved in DECA and several sports.
